LILLI KELGAR

Lilli spent most of her childhood in Sault Ste. Marie and has been practicing yoga for about five years. After highschool, she embarked on a deeper spiritual journey and began to travel. She found a new home in Puerto Rico and as she connected with the land, people, and culture of the island, she came to many self-realizations and began to see the effects of yoga far beyond the mat.

After living in PR for about a year, she had an accident that was life changing.

“I was nineteen years old and it felt like my whole world had been turned upside down,” she  says. She returned to Michigan and endured four months of medical treatment. She was in and out of the hospital daily, learning how to live without using her right thumb. She realized she could still practice yoga, but needed to make modifications. She turned her awareness further inward, deeply tuning into her body — adjusting, adapting and supporting her own healing.

Along with meditating, making yummy food and being in nature, practicing yoga was one of the bright spots during those challenging days. “It allowed me to find light in myself and the situation. I have always known that I am here to help others heal, and that yoga is something I am meant to share.”

Lilli returned to Puerto Rico in 2023 and completed her 200 hour RYT at Beyond Asana Yoga School. She is dedicated to her practice and to sharing that, no matter your physical limitations, yoga can be adapted to work for you.

Lilli knows that our journeys allow us to be lifelong students — forever learning and evolving. She’s grateful she gets to share her passion for healing and growing through yoga, gaining knowledge and awareness from fellow yogis along the way.
