Yoga Meets You Where You are—and So Does NLY!

Summer is upon us, and with beautiful days of sunshine and warm air, cool breezes and endless outdoor activities awaiting, no one wants to be indoors. Especially here in the oft-frigid north, where winter seems to last three-quarters of the year, we all want to be outside soaking up as much sun and heat as we can.

Northern Life Yoga wants to meet you there. Every Saturday, we offer morning beach yoga at Sherman Park right on the St. Mary’s River. We believe that yoga in nature is one of the most profound ways to connect to inner peace and build a greater connection with the world around us. There is no better way to start the day than by listening to the waves gently buffet the shore while we breathe deeply, and move our bodies in community with one another, soaking up that glorious sun.

But what about the days that (let’s be honest, it’s summer in Sault Ste Marie!) are maybe cold and wet and not the best summer days our town can offer? Northern Life Yoga is there for you, too. Sometimes, the weather pushes us indoors. Yoga in our studio surrounded by the falling rain, rather than an inconvenience, is a soothing meditation and natural sound bath, helping us to relax deeper into our bodies and breath. When the wind is whipping wildly, making it unpleasant to be out on the water, our studio is a sanctuary of stillness.

Whether your schedule is more open in the mornings or evenings, Northern Life Yoga has classes available for you to either start your day with renewed energy or end your day with relief and reflection. Amidst the busy schedules of our summers (the traveling, the excitement, the activities), Northern Life is always here to offer you a moment for you—to tend to your mind, body, and spirit through the highs and lows and middles of a busy summer life.

Take an hour or forty-five minutes, and come see for yourself the peace our studio space offers. Come join us at the beach Saturday morning to immerse yourself in a beautiful summer day. We can’t wait to see you, to meet you, to practice with you. We’ll meet you there.
