CANDLELIGHT RESTORATIVE YOGA & REFLEXOLOGY

Restorative yoga is a restful practice that is all about slowing down and opening your body through passive stretching. Restorative yoga is suitable for practitioners of all levels. It is a practice of deep relaxation that emphasizes the meditative aspect of yoga—the union of body and mind. Through the use of props for support (blocks, blankets, bolsters), many of the postures are held almost effortlessly for 3-10 minutes.

When the body enters a state of relaxation the mind can also consciously relax as tension is released from both body and mind. The only work that's required on your part during a restorative yoga practice is to pay attention to your breath and become aware of any sensations or thoughts that may arise. This style of yoga works very well with other healing arts practices, like reflexology.

Reflexology is the application of pressure to areas on the feet (or the hands). Reflexology is generally relaxing and may help alleviate stress since the areas of the foot correspond to organs and systems of the body. While you are relaxing in a restorative pose, our Reflexologist will circulate to each participant to provide a 5-10 minute reflexology session on each person’s feet. The result is deeply relaxing and nourishing.
